Taking an ear impression requires careful attention to detail to prevent injury to the patient. Learn the proper technique for taking high quality, safe ear impressions to be used for the manufacturing of the Westone ACCES® or other custom hearing protection products.
Westone offers the 3-day SEIT course six times a year at our facility in Colorado Springs, CO.
Topics covered during the SEIT course include:
- The mechanism of hearing
- Hazardous noise exposure limits
- Anatomy and physiology of the ear
- Otoscopic examination
- Placing the Oto-dam
- Taking the impression
- Modifying earpieces for comfort
Students receive a course manual and must pass a written and practical exam to receive a Certificate of Completion.
