Earpiece Materials and Colors

Westone offers a wide range of earpiece materials, ranging from the softest silicone to traditional hard acrylic. Available in a wide variety of both natural and vibrant colors, Westone earpieces are manufactured to fit any need or requirement.

Acrylic Materials

The standard hard clear material. Also available in tinted flesh colors (light pink, beige, light/medium or dark brown). Available in DisappEar™ A, B or C. Also available in a wide variety of bright colors, including Swyrl.

FIT
Stereolithography (SLA) Technology applied to custom earmolds. This process involves scanning the physical impression, modeling the earpiece with sophisticated computer software and producing the earpiece on one of several specialty manufacturing machines. These acrylic earpieces are available in clear, translucent rose or brown. Our saved scans of your impressions makes re-ordering a breeze!

Flex Canal
A body temperature-reactive, semi-soft material available on standard acrylic earpieces.

Vinyl Materials

Formula II (F-2)™
A soft vinyl material. Standard color is light tan. Also available in light, medium or dark brown.

F-2 Neon Colors
Same base material as our F-2. Available in four bright neon colors: pink, green, orange or yellow.

Formula II Clear (F-2C)™
Same material as F-2 but colorless. Formula II Clear is also available with your choice of nine translucent color tints.

RX™
The finest, softest vinyl material available. A must for children or difficult cases. Standard color is medium tan. Also available are light, medium or dark brown.

Superflex™
Soft vinyl material with a pink, semi-transparent tint.

Vinyl Marble™
Same base material as F-2. White swirled with your choice of one of these seven colors: blue, pink, yellow, orange, purple, green or red.

Silicone Materials

OtoBlast™
Soft, durable silicone. Base material is crystal clear. Available in several fun colors including SWYRL™. Also available in DisappEar A, B and C, clear with glitter or cat eyes.span>

W-1™
Our softest silicone that provides the maximum in comfort and seal. Standard color is clear/opaque. Additional skin color tints are available, also DisappEar A and B, neon colors or clear with glitter.

AquaNot™ Swim Plugs
The ultimate in comfort for floatable swim plugs. Also makes very good hearing protection (NRR=27). Available in thirteen fun and bright colors. Swyrl™ up to three colors together.

Other Materials

Polyethylene
A semi-hard, wax-like material. Used only in cases of extreme allergies –as a last resort… Difficult to modify. Tubing is secured using a CFA (swivel adapter).

E-Compound™
An additive to the canal portion of standard acrylic or silicone earpieces. Reduces feedback by reflecting sound waves between the earpiece tip and the eardrum. A base material must be chosen first.

Note: Not available on FIT™ earpieces.
