Request: A major East Coast university was conducting a research study on the effect of different types and levels of sound on the ability to accomplish specified tasks. To restrict the number of variables and rule out any side effect from ambient noise, they had determined to provide each subject with custom earpieces fitted with a tube to transmit just the sounds included in the study. The problem? The study was being done on mice.

Solution: The study principals contacted Westone and asked if we could make custom earpieces that small. Always up for a challenge, we agreed to give it try. Not long after, we received a dozen sets of tiny impressions.

The Set 830 S TV is an infra-red stereo TV listening system which is ideal for wearers of hearing instruments equiped with a t-coil. The system connects directly to a TV, stereo system or radio. The cordless Set 830-S delivers outstanding sound quality.

Sound can be transmitted from the receiver to the hearing instrument by means of wireless induction using the induction loop. Alternatively, induction couplers or headphones can be
connected to the lightweight receiver.
